During these sticky summer months there’s been little in completely new music that has blown me away, one track that has shaken off a few cobwebs however is this one from PVT (formerly Pivot). I’m the first to admit that I found debut patchy at best but with a lead single such as this I am willing to give them another shot, if you’re in the mood to give them a second chance then their new album is out “Church With No Magic” is out now on the fantastic Warp label.

The aussie trio are also playing in Dublin at the fine new venue that is The Workman’s Club on 9th September . I had a quick visit the other night and as it comprises of a gorgeous Georgian building, has a few decent tunes and lovely cheap Jameson and ginger ale. You would think there would be no competition? Well sorry as Field Music and Subplots are playing in Crawdaddy on that very same night. What to do, what to do..
