Metronomy Interview 2014

A heroes welcome greeted Metronomy in The Olympia Theatre with an ebullient Dublin crowd celebrating the bands first Irish gig since Electric Picnic 2012. It was also the first gig of  the Love Letters album tour, the new record having just been released the previous Friday. If the new songs were still unfamiliar to the audience it didnt deter them from jumping straight in or from showering the band with love. What a way to start a tour!

Before all of that I sat down for a chat with Joe & Oscar backstage to discuss the new album, the use of an analogue studio to record for the first time, Joe’s collaboration with Sophie Ellis Bextor and eh….U2‘s forthcoming album.

Matthew E. White: Interview

Southern gentleman of soul Matthew E. White was in Dublin recently for what was to be a tremendous gig in Whelans, in support of his debut album, the magnificent Big Inner. I had the pleasure of sitting down for a chat with him in his Dublin hotel, the day before the gig, as he battled through a heavy flu. Professional trooper that he is the gig went ahead and those who were present will forever remember the funked up musical magic that he and his band conjured on the night.

Listen to the interview here.
